The only thing I can say is that if she is looking for a job with a company as an illustrator, to choose wisely. You can't really be picky starting out, but just bear in mind that some employers treat you like a sweatshop and others don't. If she's going for freelance, the best thing to do is just to build up a great portfolio and get yourself out there. Drawing every day is a must.
